Send Me A Saxophonist!

We've always been fortunate to have great musicians that have played for the Dance Group over the years. Some of our most memorable Dance Group performances have been accompanied by The Express, The Connection, Herr Schmelzer and his band and others.

Recently we lost "Kuki" Bahl, someone that played in our community for 40 years. Whether it was at a wedding or Koenigsball, his saxophone made us smile and kept must of us in tempo on the dance floor. Last Saturday, the German community came together at the Phoenix Club to remember "Kuki" at a Benefit Dance in his honor. More than 300 guests attended. Current and past members of his band, The Connection, gathered to play in his memory. We'll all miss "Kuki" and thank him for all the years that he gave us pleasure. I've attached some pictures of the benefit dance below.

Fortunately, it doesn't end there. We're never really sure how we influence the lives but I think Kuki would like knowing that another Schwob has taken up where he left off. Andrew Balogh was recently asked to become a member of the Disney All American College Band. Andrew has been a member of the Dance Group since he was 3. He'll be playing almost daily at Disneyland throughout the summer. We wish him well.
